I think that the Internet is very important because people can use to find information quickly.

These days it is easy to find information thanks to Internet.

Books are cheaper and have more information. They don't use electricity, so they don't pollute. But they don't have as much information as Internet.
6-What are the disadvantages of the Internet?
Internet can not be much reliable.
7-On balance, which is the better invention? Why?
I think that the books are better because they can contain more information about a specific topic, and they're more reliable.

Internet and books



The Internet has become important in the last 30 years. Before Internet was invented, to find information used to be more difficult. These days it is easy to find information thanks to Internet.
Books, on the other hand, are cheaper and have more information. They don't use electricity, so they don't pollute. But they don't have as much information as Internet. Internet, however, can not be much reliable.
All in all, I think that the books are better because they can contain more information about a specific topic, and they're more reliable.

Diary: February

1st week: In this week we had an important exams of Tecnologia and Biologia. I didn't studied a lot. At the weekend my team play a basketball match in Palamós but we doidn't won. I annoted 20 points.

2nd week: In this week we had a Mats exam in Tuesday morning. In Wednesday afternoon Marc Matamamla had an accident in the school with his motorbike. At the weekend we play a basketball match in Banyoles. We won the match!

3st week: In this week we didn't go to school on Monday. In Thursday we do and exam of Castellà. At the weekend we play a basketball match in Girona. We won the match and I annoted 17 points.

4th week: In this week we had two exams in Tuesday and Wednesday. In Friday morning we had a debate in Castellà. At the weekend we played a basketball match in Banyoles. We won the match!

The White House

The West Wing centre of power

The legendary Oval Office is not in the main part of the White Hose. Althrough is was the largest house in the USA when it was inaugurated in 1800, it wasn't long before it was too small to contain the work of government and be used as a home. The West and East wings were thus added, but even these are small and office space is tight for most of people in government. There are two indicators of status-how close your office is to the president and whether you have a window. But to have and office anywhere on the first floor of the West Wing, however small and airless, is to be at the pinnacle of power. The secret Service are in the basement as in the situation Room, the communication centre from which the president and the military operate in the event of a crisis.

Washington DC

Behind closed doors

The White House Congress and the Supreme Court, are not the only centers of power in Washington DC. The others are operated by an elite group of rich, well connected women known as hostesses. This hostesses rival each other every year to be the person whose house is used as the place where political alliances are formed and deals made. At any given moment, there will only be two or three hostesses of importance and they change over time.
To advance in American politics you have to have money... lots of it. The role of Washington hostesses is essential in that they invite the rich to dine with the powerful. The most famouse in recent years was Pamela Harriman an English socialite whose house was for a long time the spiritual centre of the Democratic Party. Her power was huge. When she held a reception for an unknown Southern polician called Bill clinton, it introduced him to the power brrokers of the party. In gratitude for that crucial sponsorship, Clinton made her US Ambassador to France when he became president.
